SQUARE NECKLINES
The FW19 runways went full Renaissance, minus the turkey-legs. But if you prefer a more modern, less Juliet Capulet rendition of this infamous fashion period we recommend ditching the extra frill and embracing the simplicity of the square neckline.
MIDI SKIRTS
No matter the weather, midi skirts are a year-round fashion staple. From animal prints and pleats to satin and plaid, there are plenty of ways to style and wear a midi. Go casual with your favourite sweater and boots or layer with a tee and blazer for some prep school vibes.
HAIR ACCESSORIES
From perfectly-tied bows and colourful clips to jewel-adorned headbands and velvet scrunchies, this season's must-have accessories are vast in style but will have you reminiscing about adorning your hair for picture-day in the 6th grade. Thankfully, the hair accessories of 2019 are more chic and office-appropriate than the butter-fly clips of elementary days past.
POWER SUITS
The '80s were definitely a hit or miss when it came to fashion trends — *cough* acid wash *cough* — but we welcome the modern revival of the power suit with open arms. We're talking cinched waists, shoulder pads, oversized lapels, and long silhouettes. Complete this ensemble with your favourite pair of squared-toed strappy heels and pearl hoops.
KNEE-HIGH BOOTS
We hate to be the bearer of bad news but more snow is on the way, so it's time to ditch the ankle booties for something a little more winter-appropriate. The knee-high boot has finally made its 2019 comeback and we couldn't be happier. Why? Because they pair with everything and anything, from midi skirts to wrap dresses and tucked-in jeans!
