PARK and CMLC have joined forces to launch #VIBRANCEYYC. This interactive, temporary art installation located on the east end of St. Patrick’s Island offers Calgarians a new way to stay connected and active while following physical distancing guidelines laid out by Alberta Health Services and the City of Calgary.
Launching Monday, July 20th, #VIBRANCEYYC balances the need to program public space for the benefit of the community while keeping all Calgarians safe in the face of a pandemic. PARK and CMLC, both dedicated to advancing the work of local artists, commissioned Michelle Hoogveld and Leetia Lyons - aka Leechuts - to design a bold and colourful large-scale interactive installation that designates areas for physical distancing.
Long-time PARK partners Barre Body Studio will be hosting outdoor ‘Barre in the Park’ classes every Tuesday evening, while Alberta Dancesport will be hosting Salsa dance classes for cohort couples on Saturdays.
Check out photos of the new installations below, and be sure to join us on Tuesdays and Saturdays while we enjoy a safe and physically-distanced summer!
