Uptown and PARK have teamed up to bring visitors an all-new immersive road mural filled with outdoor summer fun for the whole family! The COVID-friendly installation is free and will be open to the public all summer long.
Guests will find over 150 feet of summer-themed games and activities as part of this vibrant road mural, designed and hand-painted by Canadian artist duo, the WKNDRS. Inspired by the season itself, the mural mixes tropical-inspired patterns and colours that evoke the carefree spirit of summer, setting the stage for the games and activities at play. Among these games include hopscotch, hurdle jumping, and even a track where participants can race one another to the finish line.
Benches and adirondacks painted by the artists will line the Boulevard throughout the 300 foot stretch, giving guests a chance to rest while snapping that Insta-worthy photo. Visitors can fuel up with the many unique food establishments available at Uptown while taking a seat on the patio area where bistro sets await. Come check out Summer on the BLVD this summer!
Keeping COVID-19 at the forefront, Uptown is committed to the safety of guests while providing a memorable summer experience. Physical distancing requirements are in place and any necessary cleaning protocols have been implemented.
SPECIAL EVENT - Viral Bhangra dancer Gurdeep Pandher Comes to Victoria
Uptown and PARK (Promoting Artists | Redefining Kulture) are thrilled to welcome the internet's favourite Bhangra dance sensation, Gurdeep Pandher, to Uptown for a free virtual event and performance at the city’s largest street mural ー #SummerOnTheBLVD. Moving his viral practice from the plateaus and river valleys of his home province in Yukon all the way to Victoria for one day only, Pandher will be hosting a virtual dance instructional on the vibrant hand-painted mural for viewers across the world to learn the art of Bhangra on August 6th.

Uptown visitors are welcome to watch in-person while adhering to social distancing guidelines or participate in an online class streaming live through zoom. For the safety of guests Pandher’s dance instructional will be an online-only event.
